In the last few weeks I have shared with you some ideas on how goal setting can help you in 2020. Hopefully those that want to change have started to think about what their goals could be. The first step in effective goal setting is making sure you're clear about what your objectives in life are. Once you've done that, you must write them down, mapping out how to achieve your goals, with these 4 key points in mind:
The biggest barrier to goal setting is failing in the past. If you're consistently setting goals that you don't achieve, you're building a collection of failure. Start with smaller goals that will inspire you to continue.
If you don't believe you can succeed, then you'll not be motivated to achieve it. Believe it and you'll see it.
Inspiration and motivation are the fuel that will drive you to your goals. Be honest. If you're not inspired by your goals, will you ever achieve them?
Open-ended goals usually have one thing in common they're never achieved. Set realistic deadlines.
I firmly believe in the words of Pablo Picasso:
" Our goals can only be reached through a vehicle of a plan, in which we must fervently belive, and upon which we must vigourously act. There is no other route to success".
Here is a template you can use as a plan to write down your goals. But first here are some tips that may help you complete it:
